Armour
Do you believe that you'll fall in love?
Do you think that one day, this suit of armour will melt?
Do you think that one day, you'll put down your sword and say "I surrender, I surrender to you"?
Do you believe that the sheer might of love's tenderness will win you over?
Do you think that one day, you'll let your shoulders drop, your breathing soften and your mind relax, because what is in front of you, wants you as you are?
Do you think you could allow that trespass, that may become a safe feeling?
Do you think that you could let it, believe it, feel it, see it?
Do you believe in the probability that you are made to be loved?

I think the hardest part of love is not finding it…
ReplyDeletebut believing you can finally rest inside it.
To lower the sword after carrying it for so long.
To let someone touch the places built for protection instead of performance.
Maybe surrender isn’t weakness after all.
Maybe it’s the quiet moment the soul realizes
it no longer has to survive love…
only receive it.
Asked the universe, heard back a sarcastic chuckle, followed by a resounding no.
