It shows you human folly.

The foolishness, the lack of empathy and emotion.

 Let's start a new day, a new life, a new week. 

Let's go where we've never been. 

Let's exhale laughter, wipe away tears and plant new memories.

A plane above

 Sitting here in the afternoon breeze, 

Listening to the sound of a plane flying high above. 

Looking at the clouds, trying to make heart shapes out of nothing. 

Trying to distract my mind and put my erratic heartbeat at ease, hoping to calm myself.

Sometimes there's everyone around you and no-one at all. 

Pretty

 I'm going to make things around me pretty. 

I'm going to take the time for everything that makes my soul smile.

Whether that means more lamps around my home, more fragrant candles or more fairy lights in my garden, I'm going to do it. 

I'm going to plant more flowers that are pink, because pink makes me happy. I'm going to indulge my senses with raspberries and guava. I'm going to wear what makes me feel alive. Because it's all going to be pretty, pretty beautiful and pretty amazing.

 We kissed that night, under the stars, nothing more was said.
